We specialise in a traditional form of Chinese acupuncture, which has a long tested and venerable history and was once part of the medical regime of the Chinese emperors and aristocracy.
Based on the Chinese theory of Yin & Yang and the Five Phases, it seeks to address the whole person and their environment when making diagnosis and devising treatment strategies.
The principle is that restoring a dynamic balance brings physical health and psycho-emotional well being. Each treatment is bespoke and unique to the individual, their needs, their lifestyle and their environment. Just as no two people are the same, no two treatment plans are the same.
Ciaran has a deep appreciation and a long-standing intellectual interest in Chinese philosophy and traditional healing arts. Having suffered serious illness and injuries at a young age, he turned to Chinese medicine for solutions and was more than pleased with the results, particularly those of acupuncture. “Even after 20 years, I'm still amazed at how the seemingly simple placement of a few small needles has such a profound effect on the body/mind.”
